"We had a temporary issue that began yesterday with a server that generated DRM code for some apps being downloaded," Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller said. "It affected a small number of users. The issue has been rectifd and we don't expect it to occur again." "DRM" stands for "digital rights management," the system that gives a user access to copyrighted content. He documented more than 100 apps that also appeared to be having the same problem, including "Angry Birds," Huffington and GoodReader, before saying it was getting too hard to keep up with complaints that were coming in. In the interim, GoodReader had issued a 24-step procedure to work around the problem.
