But the statistician, who crunches political polls for The New York Times, is having a moment. Named one of the 100 Most Influential People by Time magazine in 2009, Silver first gained fame for developing a statistical system for forecasting the performance of pro baseball players. He's really good at math. And predicting things. Now the jokesters of Twitter are paying homage with a #DrunkNateSilver hashtag that re-imagines him as a belligerent, know-it-all prognosticator.
